Sheena Pegarido is Chief of Media, Communications, and Events at LINK Strategic Partners, where she leads integrated communications strategies for some of the firm’s largest and most complex clients across sectors, ranging from education, government, health access, nonprofit, and culture.

Since joining LINK at its founding, Sheena has helped build and grow the firm’s communications and events practice, leading work across earned media, paid media, community engagement, stakeholder communications and large-scale events. She brings practical structure and creative strategy to high-profile campaigns, particularly those that require clear messaging, management of multiple vendors, strong partnerships, and trust with the communities they are designed to reach.

As the head of LINK’s media relations practice, she places stories in top national and local outlets and prepares executives, public officials, and organizational leaders for high-stakes media interviews. She also advises clients on how to translate complex issues into clear, credible narratives that resonate with reporters, partners, policymakers, and the public.

Her work has included leading communications and outreach to help families navigate school choice, developing strategy to raise national awareness for the women’s suffrage centennial, promoting the first-ever public art exhibition on the National Mall, planning a campaign to promote paid family leave, supporting public engagement around school boundaries, leading public relations for high-profile cultural events, and serving as media director for a major tennis tournament for six years.

In 2021, Sheena was honored by PRNEWS as one of the Top Women in PR in the country. Her projects and campaigns have earned dozens of industry awards, including MarCom Awards, Communicator Awards, Hermes Awards and National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards.

In a civic capacity, Sheena proudly serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, an organization dedicated to legal representation, social services, and impact litigation, helping immigrant children and adults who are detained or at risk of deportation navigate the justice system. She served as treasurer for three years.

After her undergraduate studies, Sheena began her career in news as a producer and assignment editor at a TV station in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to the DC area for graduate school and switching to a career in public relations. Prior to joining LINK, Sheena was a communications associate at Reingold, a national communications firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, where she played a key role in a national campaign focused on crisis prevention among veterans.
