As LINK’s Vice President of Communications and Events, Sheena leverages her experience in the industry and her academic background to provide both practical structure and creative strategy to LINK’s client projects. Having been at LINK since the firm’s founding, she has served in several roles for the firm and for its clients, including serving as media director for an international tennis tournament for six years, developing strategy to raise awareness for the women’s suffrage centennial across the country, planning a citywide campaign to promote paid family leave, implementing public engagement efforts around school boundaries at three regional jurisdictions, and leading communications and outreach to help DC families find the best school for their students.

She continues to lead some of LINK’s largest and most complex projects, including campaigns with different government agencies, associations, and nonprofits dedicated to education, health, performing arts, and more. She firmly believes that open communication and transparency with community stakeholders promotes trust and accountability, which in turn, fosters buy-in and advocacy.

In 2021, Sheena was honored by PRNews as one of the Top Women in PR in the country. She leads the media relations practice at LINK, having placed stories at top national and local news outlets, and trained spokespersons for media interviews.

Her projects and campaigns have also won dozens of awards throughout the years, including MarCom Awards, Communicator Awards, Hermes Awards, and National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards. She proudly serves as a board member for the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition, an organization dedicated to legal representation, social services, and impact litigation to help immigrant children and adults detained by the government navigate the justice system.

Prior to joining LINK, Sheena was a communications associate at Reingold, a national communications firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, where she played a key role in a national campaign for suicide prevention among the veteran population. Before moving to the DC area, she was a  producer and assignment editor at a TV news station in her hometown, Jacksonville, Florida.
