EDUCATION

B.F.A, Howard University, with a concentration in Graphic Design

Madison Greene is a recent graduate of Howard University, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. Being born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she has always been rooted in her community that helped cultivate her Southern black experience. Her time in Washington, DC only added to that experience, and she now utilizes her southern roots and northern experience in multiple creative outlets in her life.

Shortly after graduation, she had an opportunity to work as a graphic designer with The Pivot Group, a political organization committed to progressive causes, organizations, and campaigns. During her time there she was able to work with a large team of in-house designers from diverse backgrounds, learning quickly and constantly about political design and its impact on communities similar to her own. She was also able to build upon her design knowledge and broaden her understanding of the political climate of the United States. Working there confirmed her belief that art and design has the power to ignite positive change in our society.

Madison is always on the lookout for ways she can best put her skills to work, especially in her own community. When she is not designing graphics for work, she enjoys helping to curate memorable events with her family business, Carrie Ann Event Planning, for those in her community. The business became a great way to continue to sharpen her skills and develop her knowledge of how to run a business. She maintains the design and upkeep of the business website as well as other design collateral. In her free time, she loves to focus on her drawing skills, since they are what started her on her design path, and spending time with her friends and family.
