Corey Barenbrugge is Managing Director and Senior Strategist at LINK Strategic Partners, where he has spent twelve years helping build the firm from five employees to forty. He oversees business development, client contracting, and firm operations while providing strategic counsel on project execution and high-quality deliverables across the firm's portfolio. Corey has developed and negotiated more than 300 scopes of work and contracts across local, state, and federal government, and designed the firm's performance management and professional development framework.
A trusted advisor to government and education leaders, Corey has worked with municipal agencies, school districts, and elected and appointed boards across more than a dozen states on strategic planning, community engagement, facilities planning, and communications. He designed and led the community engagement process for Lee's Summit R-7 School District's Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan across two multi-phase engagements, work that directly informed passage of a $225M bond measure in 2025. He has directed stakeholder engagement and communications strategies contributing to the passage of more than $3.4 billion in bond measures across five states, providing impartial, non-political counsel to leadership teams navigating high-stakes community decisions.
Corey has also led editorial reviews of the District of Columbia's Comprehensive Plan, designed engagement strategies for small area plans, and supported strategic planning and organizational assessments for government, healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit clients. Prior to joining LINK, he served as Special Assistant to the General Counsel at The George Washington University and as a Presidential Administrative Fellow in the Office of Government and Community Relations, where he worked on intergovernmental affairs involving District of Columbia officials and local organizations.
Corey holds a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University, with a concentration in managing state and local governments. He lives with his wife and two sons outside of St. Louis, Missouri, where he leads LINK's Midwest practice.
