Angela is a proud first generation college student born to immigrant parents from El Salvador and Guatemala. She is an associate at LINK, where she enjoys working on community-focused engagements and furthering her skills in facilitating activations. She is passionate about creating healthy and safe environments that are accessible to all, especially those at risk. She continues her education to enhance her understanding of upstream approaches, currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Culture Change at George Mason University.

Angela’s love for community connection began when her friends organized an opening of the only indoor skatepark in the DMV, a haven where the rhythmic sounds of wheels meeting ramps echoed as the heartbeat of a vibrant community. This venture was not just about providing a recreation space; it was a deliberate effort to create a safe environment for youth to express their creativity amongst peers and mentors. Angela led the organization of their social media and blog, and painted murals within the walls of the old firehouse turned skatepark.

Her work at LINK reflects her rich tapestry of passions, with active participation and leadership in client projects such as Streets for People, where she led walk-shops, collecting valuable community feedback for the DC Office of Planning.

You can find her organizing various arts-focused community events around the city and showcasing her paintings. In her free time, she enjoys cooking with her son and daughter, passing down generational recipes like arroz con pollo and tres leches cake, attending live music shows showcasing local artists, and cheering on the Wizards at home games.
